Mr Nick Hancock is an international fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in Knee Surgery and Trauma.

In his current position as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the University Hospitals of Southampton, Mr Hancock helps develop the latest surgical techniques and regularly teaches other surgeons in the UK and abroad.

Mr Hancock qualified as a doctor from the University of Cape Town in 1998 and after working for 2 years in South Africa he moved to the UK to pursue a career on Orthopaedic Surgery. He obtained a Fellowship to the Royal College of Surgeons in 2009 and then spent a year in Sydney, Australia with the University’s of Sydney and New South Wales. There, under the guidance of Professor’s Warwick Bruce and Bill Walsh, he gained experience in knee replacement, resurfacing and ligament reconstruction.

As an expert in knee surgery, Mr Hancock is sent complex cases that require the benefit of the facilities of a major centre such as Southampton. Referrals have come from across the south of England, the Channel Islands and Europe. His field is arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery, ligament reconstruction, knee replacement and trauma related contitions. Particular attention is given to achieving excellent outcomes.
