Mr Nick Hancock is a leading and fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in Knee Surgery and Trauma. He is widely published in his field, is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and an active member of the British Association of Surgeons of the Knee.

As Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the University Hospitals of Southampton, Mr Hancock helps develop the latest surgical techniques and regularly teaches other surgeons in the UK and abroad. He has led the Department of Trauma and Orthopaedics for 5 years and now offers the highest level of experience to his private and NHS patients.

Mr Hancock qualified as a doctor from the University of Cape Town in 1998 and after working for 2 years in South Africa he moved to the UK to pursue a career on Orthopaedic Surgery. He obtained a Fellowship to the Royal College of Surgeons in 2009 and then spent a year specialising in Sydney, Australia with the University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales. There, he gained further expertise in knee replacement, knee resurfacing and ligament reconstruction treating high level athletes and sports professionals.

As an expert in knee surgery, Mr Hancock is sent complex cases that require the benefit of the facilities of a major centre such as Southampton General Hospital. Referrals have come from across the south of England, the Channel Islands and Europe. His field is arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery, ligament reconstruction, knee replacement, lower limb realignment surgery and trauma related conditions. Particular attention is given to achieving excellent outcomes.
